Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Friday announced the launch price of its all-electric Urban Cruiser Ebella E3 at Rs 23.6 lakh (ex-showroom), marking a significant expansion of the automaker’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) strategy in India.

The launch comes as global and domestic automakers accelerate investments in India’s rapidly evolving electric passenger vehicle market amid rising consumer demand and supportive policy initiatives.

Toyota said the Urban Cruiser Ebella reflects the company’s “multi-pathway approach” toward achieving carbon neutrality, combining electrification with premium SUV styling, connected technology and long-term ownership support.

The Urban Cruiser Ebella E3 is powered by a 61 kWh battery pack delivering 128 kW power output and 189 Nm torque, positioning the SUV in the premium mid-size EV category.

The vehicle features Toyota’s “Urban Tech” design philosophy with aerodynamic styling, signature hammerhead-inspired front fascia, LED lighting setup, dual-tone colour options and 18-inch alloy wheels aimed at urban and lifestyle-focused buyers.

Inside the cabin, the electric SUV offers ventilated front seats, ambient lighting with 12 colour options, sliding and reclining rear seats, panoramic roof and a JBL premium sound system as part of its premium positioning strategy.

On the technology front, the vehicle integrates a 10.25-inch digital combimeter and a 10.1-inch infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Toyota has also equipped the SUV with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), seven airbags, a 360-degree camera and a high-tensile body structure as competition in the safety-focused EV segment intensifies.

To strengthen customer confidence in EV adoption, Toyota Kirloskar Motor is offering an 8-year battery warranty, assured buyback schemes, Battery-as-a-Service options and financing support for buyers.

The company said it has expanded its EV-ready service ecosystem with over 500 BEV-enabled service touchpoints and more than 2,500 trained EV technicians across India.

Toyota added that the Urban Cruiser Ebella supports both AC and DC fast charging while offering connected charging management through the i-Connect platform, including remote charging operations, scheduling and battery monitoring features.

The electric SUV will be available in five monotone and four dual-tone exterior colour options.

Industry observers believe the launch underlines Toyota’s growing focus on India’s premium EV market, where automakers including Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai Motor India and MG Motor India are aggressively expanding electric vehicle portfolios.
