Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka to establish the “TKM Bizintel Hub” at KWIN City in Bengaluru, marking a major step in the automaker’s India expansion and technology-driven growth strategy.
The proposed 300-acre facility will focus on strengthening engineering capabilities, digital transformation initiatives, intelligent manufacturing systems, and mobility solution testing across Toyota’s value chain operations.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Siddaramaiah, along with senior ministers and officials from the Karnataka government and Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
The TKM Bizintel Hub is expected to enhance Toyota’s competitiveness by integrating advanced manufacturing technologies, supply chain digitisation, and evaluation systems for future mobility solutions.
Industry observers view the development as part of the broader trend of global automotive companies increasing investments in India’s technology and engineering ecosystem amid the country’s growing prominence as a global manufacturing and innovation hub.
According to Toyota, the hub will leverage India’s skilled engineering talent and robust information technology ecosystem to support next-generation industrial and mobility solutions.
Speaking at the event, Siddaramaiah said Toyota has been a long-term partner in Karnataka’s industrial growth journey and that the agreement would help drive technology-led investments, quality employment generation, and sustainable industrial development in the state.
Masakazu Yoshimura said India remains a strategically important market for Toyota’s innovation and sustainable mobility ambitions.
He added that the TKM Bizintel Hub will support testing and evaluation activities, digital transformation initiatives, and intelligent manufacturing across the supply chain while aligning with national priorities such as ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
The proposed hub will be located at KWIN (Knowledge, Wellbeing, and Innovation) City, an integrated smart city initiative being developed by the Karnataka government along the Doddaballapur–Dabaspet Highway with a focus on innovation, healthcare, and information technology.
The latest investment announcement further strengthens Karnataka’s positioning as a preferred destination for high-value manufacturing, technology investments, and future-ready industrial infrastructure.
