Alia Bhatt turned heads at the 79th Cannes Film Festival as she appeared on the iconic red carpet wearing an exclusive high-jewellery collection from Malabar Gold & Diamonds, underlining the growing global visibility of Indian luxury and jewellery brands.
The appearance marks another strategic brand moment for Malabar Gold & Diamonds as Indian luxury players increasingly leverage international fashion platforms to strengthen global positioning and premium brand perception.
Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Alia Bhatt paired her couture ensemble with a curated collection of Ceylon sapphire and diamond jewellery pieces designed to blend contemporary aesthetics with fine craftsmanship.
The collection featured statement earrings, sapphire rings and a modern diamond pendant crafted with high-grade gemstones and precision detailing, reflecting the brand’s focus on premium luxury jewellery.
Among the standout pieces were white quartz briolette earrings featuring 3-carat pear-shaped diamonds combined with fluid-cut quartz detailing, designed to enhance light reflection and movement.
The actor also wore an 8-carat oval Ceylon sapphire ring surrounded by round diamonds, alongside an 8.8-carat pear-shaped Ceylon sapphire ring inspired by the form of cascading raindrops.
Completing the ensemble was a 4-carat pear-shaped diamond pendant designed with elongated proportions aimed at maximizing brilliance and elegance on the red carpet.
Industry observers note that international appearances by Indian celebrities at global events such as the Cannes Film Festival are increasingly becoming important brand-building opportunities for luxury and lifestyle companies targeting affluent global consumers.
Commenting on the collaboration, M. P. Ahammed said Cannes represents a global platform where fashion, art and craftsmanship converge, adding that the collaboration aimed to showcase timeless elegance alongside the brand’s design expertise and artisanal craftsmanship.
The showcase also reflects the broader expansion of Indian luxury brands into international fashion ecosystems as demand for heritage-inspired contemporary jewellery continues to rise across global markets.
